| Partner with us to transform JULY into a month brimming with SUCCESS! A MESSAGE FROM OUR V.P. OF OPERATIONS,MATT MALONE As we transition through the busy season, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your incredible hard work and dedication. Your efforts have been crucial to our success, and I hope you’re finding time to enjoy the summer with family and friends. Despite the challenges posed by a downward trend in the industry and economy, our sales have remained steady compared to last year. This is a testament to your commitment and ability to gain market share in a tough environment. Your hard work truly makes a difference. Looking ahead, we still have important goals to achieve during the fall planting season. Let’s continue to push forward, working hard and striving for success together. Thank you once again for your dedication and teamwork. FINANCES June was another good month but continued falling short of last year. Even though we fell short of last year, for three straight months, our YTD Sales and Net Income are flat to last year. The Conneaut Dredge was budgeted to come in June has been completed, but we have not yet recognized any revenue as we are still waiting for numbers. Once we move the material and start recognizing the revenue we should see a pickup over last year. N COMMERCIAL SALES CORNERAs the landscaping season remains strong and active, our distributors continue to move mulch and soils. Their customers, like ours, are working hard to complete projects quoted earlier in the season. Large construction companies and commercial landscapers have not let recent rainy weather interfere with their completion plans. Most have projects that will keep them busy through the end of the year, which is great news for us, as we already have orders from these customers. We continue to quote new opportunities, leveraging the strength of our quality and service to maintain our industry leadership. Our specialty soils play a significant role in boosting sales. The proven results of these products instill confidence in landscape architects and design engineers. Recently, we secured an order for Parma’s School Demolition Project, requiring several hundred loads of topsoil starting in July, as well as an order for Wickliffe High School Ball Fields renovations, needing over 100 loads of soil also starting in July. The next push will be for fall planting, as construction projects aim to start early and finish before year-end. Additionally, we have now been listed as the preferred vendor for Portage County Stormwater Systems with our Bio Retention Soil.Your KB/ENW Sales Team remains busy, strong, and steady. “SEE SOMETHING..SAY SOMETHING”… If you happen to see new construction projects starting please notify Peter Zappola, Commercial Sales Manager (peterz@kurtz-bros.com) for a follow up visit and explore our potential opportunities. TRANSPORTATION In June, Transportation successfully completed 5,950 loads. These comprised 2,967 residential loads and 2,983 commercial loads. With the help of our deicated production crews, Transportation also began hauling CDF sand and sediment, achieving 768 loads totaling 17,000 cubic yards of material in June. Coupled with topsoil sales from CDF, this marks an impressive start to our hauling operations for the year. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the drivers and dispatchers whose hard work ensured smooth material movement this season! | 🏆 SHOUTOUT TO OUR AKRON STORE TEAM 🏆 This spring, our stores were given a mission—to reconnect with past retail customers who had purchased mulch but hadn’t returned in a couple of years. They had seven weeks to achieve this, and we’re thrilled to announce that our Akron Store Team was the only team to complete the task by the deadline! 🎉 Not only did they meet the deadline, but their efforts also led to new orders and received heartfelt appreciation from customers for reaching out. This annual project is crucial for us as we strive to maintain our customer relationships and grow sales. And this year, the Akron Store made it a giant win! 🌟 To celebrate their hard work, the Marketing Department treated them to a fantastic lunch party yesterday. Please join us in recognizing and appreciating the Akron Store Team for their dedication and success. 🥳 ![]() |
